Ravensbourne Project History

A Short History

The Ravensbourne Toy Library ran its first play scheme in 1984 from the Salvation Army Hall is Lewisham. These ran until 1987 when it became impossible to continue the volunteer-led sessions without paid staff.

1987

First started as a toy library by Barbara Every

1992

Peter Every – Barbara’s son, sadly passed away

1997

Became a charity and short breaks provider

2003

Moved to or current home of No.4 Crantock Road

March 2012

Celebrated 35 years of service, Barbara Every’s Retirement, and welcoming of Rob Jones as the New Business Manager

August 2012

Held a dedication renaming No.4 as Peter Every House in hour of Barbara’s Son

June 2017

Massive changes to our service to becomes Lewisham’s preferred respite provider for children and young people

September 2017

Took on first student industrial placement
